Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how Ralosy ("we", "us") collects, uses and safeguards information when you use Satark (the "Service"). We build Satark to be privacy-first: no account is required to use the checker.
1. Information we collect
- Message text you paste: analysed entirely in your browser for the scam-checker verdict. It is not sent to our servers unless you explicitly choose to submit a Community Report.
- Community reports: if you submit one, we store the report text, category, optional state, and — for phone reports — a salted SHA-256 hash of the number plus a masked display version (e.g.
+91 •••••• 1234). We do not store the raw phone number in the public feed. - Upvote deduplication: we derive an anonymous voter hash from a salted hash of your IP address and User-Agent to prevent vote manipulation. This hash cannot be reversed back to your identity.
- Donation data: if you donate via Razorpay, Razorpay collects your name, email, phone and payment details directly. We only receive a transaction reference and status — we never see your card, UPI or banking credentials.
- Technical logs: standard server logs (timestamp, path, approximate region, user-agent) for security and abuse prevention.
2. How we use information
- To operate, secure and improve the Service.
- To display community-reported scams and phone lookups.
- To process donations via Razorpay.
- To respond to your questions and support requests.
- To comply with legal obligations under Indian law.
3. Sharing
We do not sell your data. We share limited data only with:
- Razorpay — for donation processing. Razorpay's privacy policy applies to their collection: razorpay.com/privacy.
- Our hosting and database providers — under contractual confidentiality obligations, only to run the Service.
- Law enforcement — when required by a valid Indian legal request.
4. Data retention
- Community reports are retained indefinitely unless you request removal.
- Server logs are retained for up to 90 days.
- Donation transaction records are retained per Indian tax and financial regulations (typically 8 years).
5. Security
We use industry-standard measures including TLS in transit, Row-Level Security in our database, salted hashing of phone numbers, and least-privilege access. No system is 100% secure — do not submit information you would not want retained.
6. Your rights
You may email us to request access to, correction of, or deletion of any personal data we hold about you. We will respond within 30 days.
7. Children
The Service is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.
8. Cookies
Satark itself does not set marketing or tracking cookies. Razorpay's checkout may set cookies necessary for payment security during a donation.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The "last updated" date at the top reflects the latest revision.
